Fall Dies Reluctantly

chipmunk hiding copysparrow pink flowerface

Fall dies reluctantly

Shocking the landscape

with its vibrant colors.

Animals prepare for winter

Eating all the food around them.

Storing some of it for later.

The leaves dance their way to the ground

Twisting and turning in the breeze.

Flowers are still trying to breathe

And bloom

In spite of decaying petals.

Days are getting shorter.

Light is leaving.

We await winter’s rebirth.

A brisk fall day

brings a spot of sun

blazing through orange and yellow leaves,

We think we’re all alone

And yet, when we check,

There’s always someone else

Sharing space with us
