Breathing

spider in webDSC_2265

Some days we all feel so disconnected
to ourselves and with each other.
Barely holding on to life with a thread.
Nothing feels good or right,
Just work, commitments and drudgery.

And yet that thread we’re holding onto,
even if just barely,
Floats across the universe.
And it’s as strong as it is invisible
It’s the glue that holds us all together
That sticky cobweb that we brush away
fuels us, connects us and gives us purpose.

May we keep holding on,
Even when we can’t see the source.
The Heavenly Filament
divinely floats us
Holds us
and Breathes us anew
Everyday.

Stay in the Light

cardinal landingDSC_8625

When I took this picture 2 winters ago, I can still feel the chilling cold that was in this moment. You could not stay outside for long. And yet the birds and the squirrels were constantly moving, keeping themselves fed and as warm as was possible. The flurry of activity felt like a desperate journey for survival.

My pictures often show me messages long after I’ve taken them. I see the squirrel diligently getting each last seed into his mouth, barely looking forward, just enough to get the next morsel. And the cardinal has his eye on the seeds too. But in this moment, as he is descending, he is strangely in between worlds. The world of solid matter where the wooden porch is just beneath one half of his wings. And on the other half of his wings, there are lights, and shimmery hues. Perhaps there are little nature angels, keeping him warm as he opens up his whole soul and makes himself vulnerable.  In this moment, he is in such contrast to the squirrel who is so closed up, so hunkered down. In total survival mode.

Stay in the light
Your dreams will be fed.

Stay in the light
Your healing draws nigh.

Stay in the light
Feel the warmth in your heart.

Your thoughts will crystalize
Into your design
Blessed by your Faith
And healed by your Love.

Pure

In this alpha state
I feel only love
Understanding
Kindness
Resonance.
My light shines purely
Brilliantly
As this white poppy.
Crinkled in all the right places
Love streaming through the crevices
Smiling
Cushioned
Cradled
by God’s life sustaining dirt.

Always

In this moment of peace and tranquility
All is forgiven

I stand as if far away
Removed from the fray
Watching, but not harmed.

I smile at everyone’s rushed and worried walk
Thoughts tumbling and spilling over
Onto the sidewalk
Into the air we all breathe.

I am connected, and yet aloof
Alone and yet together.

Sending love through my fingertips
Radiating peace and understanding
Vibrating warmth and forgiveness.
So loved and cherished.

Oh Lamb of God
Hear my impassioned plea.
To be love.
To hold on to peace.
With gentleness
And reverence
Always.

The peace inside my heart

unconditional loveDSC_0018

I want to know a peace
That lives inside my heart
And travels to all corners
Of this earth.
Every soul will hear the words:
‘Lay down your swords
And end all wars.
The ‘enemy’ does not exist.
He’s just a man
With a family
He wants to see another day.
Feel his breathing
Feel his start
And hold him closer to your heart’

This poem is dedicated to my grandfather who chose not to bomb a city in Russia many years ago.  He said these people have families just like my family at home, and I can’t do this.  He deserted his unit and became a prisoner of war for 13 years. I really don’t know anybody today that I admire so much.  He was the most honorable and courageous man I ever knew. He wrote a beautiful poem to his son, (the  uncle I never met), who went missing in action. It expressed the pain he felt over losing his son.  I feel in my heart that war is wrong and there is always a way to resolve problems without violence. Let us all desire peace enough to make it happen.

I feel into your moment

green heron on bridgeDancing shimmery orbs
peaking through the plants
a spotlight on the bridge.
I’m here and then I’m not!
I travel as I please
Pink pastels adorn me.
White light never leaves me
shining through the brush
going through my crown
cascading down my being
swirling through my blood.
You are my perfect creation
Wondrous to my eyes
Pleasing to my senses
I feel into your moment.

I will never leave you

A poem struggling to be formed

A lump is catching in my throat
My heart is crying to be heard.

Your spirit never stops to muse
Where Love comes from.
A never ending flow
Is dripping down in snowflakes
Gently singing through the air
Landing on your tongue
Seeping in your heart.
I come through colorful sunsets
As a glowing ball of light
Burning orange and yellow
Dreamy blue and gray
A fiery orb, sinking in the west
Burying all the unhealed thoughts
Kissing every tear.
Blessing your unfilled heart.
An acceptance so Divine
And a Love without condition.
Your healing is inside.
And I will never leave you.

itty bitty miracle

Two years ago, I picked up a book called Homer’s Odyssey. It is a true story about a vet who was given a “sick” kitten, after his owners said they could not handle him. She found out that the only thing wrong with him was that he had a terrible eye infection and his eyes would have to be removed. Continue reading

Tiny and Mighty

golden crown in pines

This time of year I notice the little golden crowned kinglets hanging upside down in the  conifers and moving quickly from branch to branch. They are looking for insects and tree sap.   This tiny bird is  only 3.25 to 4.25 inches long with a wingspan of 6.5 to 7 inches and a weight of 5.3 to 5.8 grams. Continue reading
