Fall Dies Reluctantly

Fall dies reluctantly

Shocking the landscape

with its vibrant colors.

Animals prepare for winter

Eating all the food around them.

Storing some of it for later.

The leaves dance their way to the ground

Twisting and turning in the breeze.

Flowers are still trying to breathe

And bloom

In spite of decaying petals.

Days are getting shorter.

Light is leaving.

We await winter’s rebirth.

    I love your photos! The cute chimpunk hiding. And the sparrow with its mouth full of flower. lol And of course, the tree with the flowers around it bring me to a peaceful place. Love them!

  4. How did you manage to capture the bird with a touch of pink in its beak? You are amazing. Nature goes out with a bang; colors, animals, sounds. Your poem and pictures are wonderful proofs of it. Thank you (& TY for your comment on my last post!!).

    Let me introduce myself… my name is Jeanie Wiltjer. I am a retired Art teacher and a member of an Artists Group at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lombard, IL. For the past several years we have sponsored 4 events per season at which artists perform in a variety of genres. Last year the group decided to add a Visual Arts component to these series presentations. The way that this works is that after the performance, the concert guests are invited to a reception in the church fellowship hall at which light refreshments are served and the invited Visual Artist shows/sells their work. Thus far, this has been quite successful for the presenting artist. People enjoy talking with them about their works, and a number of sales have subsequently been made.

    I am writing to invite you to be the presenting artist at one of these up-coming Artists Series events at St. John’s. The date is January 12, 2014, 3:00 p.m. These showings have been so well received, and have had a very positive result for the presenting artists. Members from our board , Lois and Fred Hobel, saw your work at an art fair this past summer, and spoke with you about the possibility of your participation in one of these events.
    I have gone to your web site and agree with their comments that your photo works and accompanying text are stunning! I am in high hopes that you will consider taking this invitation to show and sell some of your lovely works.

    I look forward to hearing from you, and am in high hopes that you will be able to join us on this date.
