Awards

Yesterday I was given 5 different awards by Robin from http://witlessdatingafterfifty.wordpress.com. The Inner Peace Award, the Awesome Blog Content, Most Influential Blog Award, Sunshine Award  and Dragon’s Loyalty Award. Wow! I am stunned and very touched by such a sweet gesture. Robin is someone I just recently started to follow, and I’ve found such a diversity in her posts. Her title suggests that she is posting about dating, but there are so many more topics that she talks about. I have really enjoyed all of it. There are tips on how to be green, what is the meaning of the expression o.k. , integrational living, just to mention a few.  She is very knowledgeable and loves to do research. I’ve learned so much from her in a short time.

I decided to go with the Dragon’s Loyalty Award. The sketch of a dragon is pretty darn cool. And one award is just fine!

If you don’t feel like accepting because you’re not into awards, no worries. I just want you to know how much I think of you. And honestly 15 is not enough. I truly enjoy all the blogs that I read, and I hope that you know that, when you see me come back and visit you.

The rules for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award are:

1. Display the award on your blog.

2. Announce your win with a post and thank the blogger who nominated you.

3. Present 15 deserving bloggers with the award.

4. Link your winners in the post and let them know of their being awarded.

5. Present seven interesting things about yourself.

So, let me think …

Seven interesting things about myself:

1.  When I was a senior in high school my last school project was to be the pianist for the musical: “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”

2.  I didn’t get into photography until I was in my 40’s. Now it’s my career!

3.  I have severe insomnia which has led me to meditation and nutrition. Sometimes a handicap can be a good teacher.

4.  When I was 10 I went to the library and did research on how writers get published. I still have that piece of paper!

5.  I love to take long walks, in fact I could hike all day.

6.  I am a volunteer chaplain at my church, which means I pray with people.

7.  I’ve always wanted a tatoo of a rose! But so far I haven’t gotten it.

  4. As we lovingly nurture and tend to what’s in our hearts, Life loves to multiply and reflect that in our world. It’s always a wonderful feeling to be recognized and appreciated for those very things that we have breathed into being. Enjoy, and congratulations!

  5. You outshone me and made me Proud! I am so glad that you chose The Dragon’s Loyalty Award! You deserved all five awards, my dear! I just got the library and am catching up with 3 hours straight of blogging and reading! I have little ‘snippets’ in my visits during the week. You are really sweet to let others know about my other choices of writings. My byline is, “Relationships reveal our hearts!” You help me find wonders in your photos and poetry! I am so glad we are connected! Smiles, Robin

  6. Hi, Linda,

Thanks, I appreciate this! I’m not sure I understand all the mechanics, but will look into it.

I love your blog. I have seen a lot of photography, but there is something that sets yours apart. I think it’s because your spirit comes through in each one. I think that when I knew you at church, I couldn’t comprehend who you are. I’m only starting now to get an idea. I think your spirit is so far advanced than many people’s, especially mine. You seem more Buddhist than Methodist. 🙂 Very in tune with life, nature, and God.

I thought of you this weekend while on retreat at a place I’d never seen — St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, IL. You might want to take a drive up there and walk around the grounds, especially early morning or dusk when there are deer. It’s an extraordinarily beautiful place. There is a three-mile path around the lake. Many different kinds of birds. And the buildings and church are gorgeous. I’ll try to post some photos on Fb so you can see.

Hope this finds you well, Nancy

    • thanks for your long thoughtful comment nancy. You are really sweet! And it was so nice to read these words today. I’ve been having a rough time lately, so when somebody is kind it really means so much. Actually I have been to St. Mary’s a few times, and I’m glad you reminded me about it. I will have to go back once spring is in full swing. You are right, it is such a beautiful place.

  7. Thank you so much, Linda. I have never received an award and am still not sure what I will do, but I enjoy your blog immensely. It inspires me and brings me joy with every post. This makes your compliment all the more special.
